Booster Course Pass Finale

As an old saying goes, all good things come to an end, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass is no exception.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass has finally been concluded, and it ended on a very high note. With that, the Wii U's best selling video game's Redemption Arc finally got the happy ending it deserves after nine years. 2023 looks like the year of conclusions, from the end of Ash "Satoshi" Ketchum's Journey, to the end of Charles Martinet's days as the voice of Mario. Even Mario Kart Tour discontinued new content after the 4th Anniversary Tour, and let's not forget that Tears of the Kingdom could mark the end of a saga that began with Breath of the Wild, and hopefully, Tears of the Kingdom will be the end of Ganon's reign of terror.

Farewell, Mario Kart 8, and thanks for the memories and death stares!

Wii U Woes

Will somebody please think of the Miis?

The Wii U's woes in the days leading up to the Wii U eShop's closure couldn't get any worse. Cybersecurity issues forced Nintendo to take down Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon online servers. A hardware issue is causing the infamous Wii U NAND corruption error that is bricking Wii U consoles that had been left to collect dust. 2023 is really turning into an Annus Horribilis for the Wii U. So much for the Wii U being Nintendo's biggest flop that's not the Virtual Boy or the Game Boy Micro, especially when its sales figures are lower than the Gamecube.

Update: It turns out that the Wii U NAND corruption error has nothing to do with leaving the Wii U to gather dust. Instead, the Wii U NAND corruption error has been found to be caused by Hynix NAND chips found in selected Wii U units, and the Hynix NAND chips are dying faster than those manufactured by Samsung and Toshiba.
