Boarding Denial

Author's Note: All copyrights for the items featured in this comic go to their respective owners.

Ever wondered what happens when our favourite characters from Famicom games try to board a flight, only to get denied from boarding by airport security? Well, that is exactly what would happen to Spelunker, Wynn and Bomberman.

In Spelunker, bombs are needed to get rid of rocks that block the titular character's way. Atlantis no Nazo has Wynn sometimes throwing bombs to open doors, reveal hidden doors and defeat enemies. Bomberman is all about placing bombs to eliminate enemies and clear walls to find the exit. With all that said, the main protagonists of these three Famicom games are going to be in serious trouble with airport security because their bombs are not allowed on board the plane for obvious reasons.

Blast The Buddy

Explosives are one of the many types of weapons used in the mobile game Kick The Buddy, and the explosives in this comic such as Bomberman's bombs, the stick grenades from Metal Slug, and dynamites, whether as a single stick or as a bundle, are perfect for blasting Buddy, even if this stress relief method makes Buddy sad.

By the way, this is the Kick The Buddy: Forever version of Buddy in this comic.

Bomberman Generations

Can you believe that there's more than one version of Bomberman for the MSX? You have the MSX port of the original Bomberman, the 3-D remake called "3-D Bomberman", and a port of the Famicom game called "Bomberman Special". 3-D Bomberman was destined to be obscure with a capital O because a 3-D Maze first-person Bomberman game unexpectedly ended up becoming a horror game instead, resulting in the game being Japan-only. As for the MSX game Bomberman Special, it was basically a budget version of the Famicom game specially programmed for the MSX. The game's ending was a disappointment because the Lode Runner reference was removed due to the existence of an MSX version of Lode Runner that was not made by Hudson Soft.

Now we get to the design of the Bomberman player character in both the MSX version of the original game and Bomberman Special. Shinichi Nakamoto found the overalls-clad man in the original Bomberman game to be uninspiring, and felt it would have made more sense if Bomberman's design was based on the enemies from the Famicom version of Lode Runner instead. And thus, the Bomberman we are all familiar with came into existence, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Smurf Gets Smacked

Weapons that are about to hit a Smurf: Enchanted Emerald-tipped Mithril Bolt, Bomberman Bomb, Granite Maul, Rune Throwing Knife tipped with Weapon poison(++).

Remember the comic about various characters getting smacked by a Granite Maul? Well, a Smurf is about to get smacked by a Granite Maul. But the Granite Maul isn't the only weapon that is about to hit the Smurf. He's also about to get hit by an Enchanted Emerald-tipped Mithril Bolt, a Rune Throwing Knife (p++) and one of Bomberman's bombs. Looks like this poor Smurf is about to suffer greatly via getting smashed, blasted and poisoned...

Why must this poor Smurf suffer? It's not because of Gargamel's villainy, but it's because of online gaming authorities waging war on Smurf Accounts. The reason for that? Smurf Accounts are a violation of honor codes in various online video games. That's why the Smurf had to suffer.

Bomber-Trapped

Author's Note: This comic is a four-panel remake of "Bombed Out" by Dueling Analogs, who had their final curtain call on 31 July 2018.

Remember the times when we trapped our opponents in Bomberman by surrounding them with bombs? While baddies were among the victims of such cruel tactics, VS Mode took that cruelty up to Eleven by turning such nasty tactics into a destroyer of friendships during multiplayer Bomberman sessions by surrounding our fellow players with bombs.
