Joy-Con Confusion

Remember the times when people tried to play 3DS games on their Nintendo DS? How about those times when people inserted a Wii U game disc into their Wiis? Well, Nintendo recently announced the Nintendo Switch 2, and its allure will be similar to its predecessor. However, it has the potential to repeat the mistakes that the 3DS and Wii U made during the early days of these two Nintendo consoles.

In order to avoid repeating the same mistakes made during the early days of the 3DS and Wii U, Nintendo needs to have greater clarity in regards to the Nintendo Switch 2. For example, the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons will not be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 due to the size comparisons with the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons. While Nintendo salespeople think this will be sufficient in preventing customers from getting confused, I think Nintendo needs to have greater clarity in regards to the comparison between the Nintendo Switch 2 and its predecessor. That way, Nintendo can at least avoid repeating the same mistake they made during the Wii U's early days.

Booster Course Pass Finale

As an old saying goes, all good things come to an end, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass is no exception.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass has finally been concluded, and it ended on a very high note. With that, the Wii U's best selling video game's Redemption Arc finally got the happy ending it deserves after nine years. 2023 looks like the year of conclusions, from the end of Ash "Satoshi" Ketchum's Journey, to the end of Charles Martinet's days as the voice of Mario. Even Mario Kart Tour discontinued new content after the 4th Anniversary Tour, and let's not forget that Tears of the Kingdom could mark the end of a saga that began with Breath of the Wild, and hopefully, Tears of the Kingdom will be the end of Ganon's reign of terror.

Farewell, Mario Kart 8, and thanks for the memories and death stares!

Nintendo Switch 5th Anniversary Special Letter

Can you believe that the Nintendo Switch has been around for five years? Some people expected it to fail like the Wii U or the Virtual Boy or the Game Boy Micro, or even expect it to become Nintendo's equivalent of the Sega Dreamcast. But look where the Nintendo Switch is currently right now sales wise. It has successfully overtaken the NES, the SNES, the N64, and even the Wii as the best-selling Nintendo home console of all time.

Unfortunately, because of Nintendo's arrogance, they have made their customers angry. The copyright takedowns being due to their zero tolerance against intellectual property piracy policy seems understandable as copyright infringement has been weaponized by organized crime. However, the closure of the 3DS and Wii U eShops have made the people who want to boycott Nintendo strengthen their resolve to press on with their boycott of Nintendo's products. Even worse is that Nintendo has not fixed the Joy-Con Drift issue, which is making the customer dissatisfaction problem worse.

With all that said, if we all want to boycott Nintendo, maybe consider finding alternatives like Linux or the Steam Deck. If we vote with our wallets, we can force Nintendo to humble themselves and teach them the error of their ways.

MineSmashed

Ladies and gentlemen, we have done the impossible again. Minecraft's Steve is coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and he brought in Alex, a Zombie and an Enderman.

If you are wondering how Minecraft got in to Smash, it could be due to Mojang's negotiatons with Nintendo beginning five years ago. Another explanation could be due to the existence of the Wii U, New 3DS and Switch Editions of Minecraft, and these versions of Minecraft for Nintendo platforms had the exclusive Super Mario Mash-up DLC package.

Now all we need is for Sony to let the Lemmings enter Smash, and we will finally accomplish a feat even more impossible than Microsoft allowing Banjo-Kazooie to enter Smash.

Update: Sora from Kingdom Hearts is the final Fighters Pass character, and he is not owned by Sony. Guess Sony is so bitter towards Nintendo that unlike Microsoft, Sony does not even want to think about taking hostilities to the personal level. Also, Exient acquired the rights to Lemmings from Sony. This means despite relinquishing the rights to some of their franchises to other companies, Sony does not want to take part in a Nintendo dueling tournament at all.

Nintendo Switch Lite Possible New Colours

There are currently four colours for the Nintendo Switch Lite, as compared to the many colours for the Game Boy line and the DS line, including 3DS models. In this comic, here are all my ideas for new Nintendo Switch Lite colours, with three of these colours paying homage to Nintendo consoles of yesteryear. The orange Switch Lite will basically be a homage to the orange Game Boy Advance and orange GameCube, both of which are Japan-only. Then the teal Switch Lite, while nearly similar in colour to the turquoise Switch Lite, would be reminiscent of the teal Game Boy Color. Another Nintendo Switch Lite will have the GameCube's indigo colour. As for the lime green Switch Lite, while not a tribute to the light green Game Boy Color, would be a reference to Swapnote's resident Mii Nikki, as well as a tribute to the now-defunct Miiverse. Other colours include British Racing Green, which pays homage to the traditional colour of British automobiles, Shamrock Green, the shade of green associated with Ireland, and amethyst purple, which is associated with amethysts.

Now it will be up to Nintendo to consider if these new Switch Lite colours get their approval.
