A Tale of Two South-East Asian Democracies

Yesterday marked the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia's independence from the Netherlands. However, the run-up to this special milestone was filled with protests against President Prabowo Subianto's austerity measures and the decline of democracy in Indonesia. One method used by the protesters was flying the Straw Hat Pirates flag from the anime series One Piece, which tells the story of Monkey D Luffy and his friends doing battle against rival pirates and corrupt authorities. This protest method was started by truckers who feel that the austerity measures are doing more harm to the working class. It proved to be so popular that some of the Indonesian authorities consider this method of protest an act of treason that threatens to divide the country.

Contrast this with Singapore's Housing Development Board (HDB) getting a Sega license to have Sonic celebrate SG60 with Sonic's Golden Ring Rush in 18 different malls in the run-up to the special National Day commemorating the 60th anniversary of Singapore becoming a sovereign nation-state. This is a huge win for Sega as far as their presence in Singapore is concerned.

At the end of the day, if you want to celebrate a milestone Independence Anniversary, making the people happy is far more important than you think.

I'm very sure Sega didn't tell us that Sonic is lactose intolerant like real life hedgehogs.

If there is anyone to blame for Dr Wily becoming a villainous villain, it's all the fault of the insensitive Dr Light. Also, the creepy Robot Masters Skull Man and Shade Man would definitely become BFFs.

If there is one thing Dr Eggman and Dr Eggman Nega fear most, it's being tested positive for diabetes.

If there is one thing Blaze the Cat should never do, it's sitting on Silver the Hedgehog. Especially when you have an Internet video where a cat tried to sit on a hedgehog only to get pricked...

I'm very sure Pokemon was the dying dream of a mentally ill Ash. If that turned out to be true, then this would explain why Ash can never grow old...

The Atari 5200 version of Pac-Man is definitely far superior to the subpar Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man.

For those wondering who Tobrac is, he is the orc OC in the CarbotAnimations WowCraft YouTube videos. His name comes from the reversed name for Carbot.

Remember Ugandan Knuckles? He is basically Knuckles with accents reminiscent of the Ugandan film "Who Killed Captain Alex?" by Wakaliwood.

As the first and most basic of the three main enemies in BurgerTime, Mr Hot Dog needs no explanation.

In the Super Smash Bros series, one of Mr Game and Watch's recolors is reminiscent of the original Game Boy's screen, which was ridiculed by Sega in a Game Gear advertisement titled "Creamed Spinach Color".

For those wondering who Sukapon is, he is the main protagonist of the forgotten Famicom game Joy Mech Fight. His popularity, however, only began to skyrocket when he appeared as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and long before that, Sukapon was the most requested miscellaneous Nintendo character for inclusion in Super Smash Bros Melee.

Kick The Magikoopa

There are some Super Mario fans who claim that Kamek is the true villain of the Super Mario series. That's why Kamek is getting kicked by other people in this comic.

Waluigi dislikes all Koopa Troop ringleaders, and Kamek is no exception.

If Sonic wants revenge against Nintendo for Sega's hardware production exit, he can always vent his anger and frustration on Nintendo's villains.

This comic is also a subtle nod to RuneScape's Combat Triangle, where ranged users defeat magic users. That's why ranged users such as Link and High Elf Archer are shown here kicking magic users like Kamek.

Kamek getting kicked could also be a dark nod to Kamek getting omitted from the Mario Kart World playable character roster.

Mario VS Pokemon Mental Gymnastics

Maybe the real reason those who wronged Ash Ketchum were never punished was because Nintendo knows that Ash Ketchum's namesake Satoshi Tajiri was the reason Game Freak almost went bankrupt back in the mid-1990s. Another reason is that Satoshi Tajiri wanted to surpass Shigeru Miyamoto, but that has not come to fruition due to Little Town Hero being a disappointment, and the fact that the Mario series also includes the Yoshi, Donkey Kong and Wario series as well. Therefore, the decision was made to have Ash's journey end with the intellectually disabled illiterate go on one last journey of friendship and co-existence.

Then again, Gary Oak's namesake Shigeru Miyamoto does not hate Waluigi, contrary to popular belief. Miyamoto also allows other Nintendo franchises that's not Pokemon to have crossovers with the Mario series outside of Super Smash Bros. Even Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series was allowed to enter Mario territory. Perhaps this is why Satoshi Tajiri will never be able to surpass Shigeru Miyamoto, because Pokemon licensing is harder to obtain than third-party character licensing, which is why the Mario series can have crossovers with Zelda, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin and even Sonic, but not Pokemon, if you do not count Mario Pikachu, that is.

Stab The Eggman

Wielders of swords stabbing Dr Eggman: Schezo Wegey (Puyo Puyo), Yuko Asou (Valis), Guts (Berserk), Kirito (Sword Art Online).

Schezo had already stabbed Dr Eggman before, but that was the Sega Mega Drive version of Dr Eggman who got stabbed. In this comic, the Dr Eggman that is being stabbed in this comic is the version whose design debuted in Sonic Adventure and has since been the design Sonic fans are all familiar with.

Eggman gets Blasted

If there is anyone who should face the fury of those who greatly dislike the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise for everything wrong with it, it's the Sonic villains like Dr Eggman who gets the lion's share of the haters' fury. In this comic, Dr Eggman gets blasted by a dynamite, a gooey bomb and a stick grenade hurled at him by one of the haters. He deserves what he gets for all his villainy, which was largely to blame for all that is wrong with the Sonic franchise...

Random Clawshots

If Link could randomly fire his clawshot, who knows what his clawshot would grapple on...

It's hilarious to see the lower part of Princess Peach's dress get ripped off, exposing her panties, and it's even more hilarious if she was wearing striped panties.

Magikoopas are warlocks who transmute brick blocks into various objects such as Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Spinies, coins and mushrooms. Kamek is the most prominent Magikoopa, and snatching his wand will render him unable to transmute brick blocks into Goombas, Koopa Troopas and Spinies.

Sega confirmed that Dr Eggman's moustache is fake. Therefore, ripping it off would be the best way to humiliate him, and yes, that is Mega Drive Dr Eggman that got his moustache ripped off.

For those worried about people losing their heads, the Dr Wily that lost his head was the fake that fooled Mega Man, allowing the real Dr Wily to live to fight another day.

Mr Krabs is notorious for his obsession with money and greed, and he is gasping over his dollar bill being snatched away by a random clawshot.

Gotta Eat Fast

A comic with an actual hedgehog? The hedgehog in this comic is not Sonic, but the comic's title is associated with Sonic's "Gotta Go Fast" catchphrase.

The hedgehog's owner wearing blue as well as the blue wall and the blue dishes could just be a coincidental reference to Sonic and Sega.

Yes, real-life hedgehogs do eat carrots and cat food. In Sonic X, Sonic does not like cat food, unlike the hedgehog in this comic who happily eats the carrot slices and the cat food his owner gave to him. This means that real-life hedgehogs are better than Sonic in some ways, even if many of them cannot live up to 10 years, let alone 30...

Happy 30th Anniversary, Sonic the Hedgehog. You made hedgehogs popular animals on the Internet.

Despair by Revelation

The truth will cause people to go into despair and even die from it.

It was revealed that in Chapter 220 of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Clow Reed actually started the whole ordeal revolving around Princess Sakura's memories. Everything from the Clow Cards to the Clear Cards to the feathers containing Princess Sakura's memories and Fei Wong Reed's death seal are all related to each other. When it comes to magical girls having to deal with past lives, Sakura Kinomoto is no exception...

The animals of Animal Crossing may not be animals at all, but rather, the player character could possibly have a rare mental illness known as lycanthropic intermetamorphosis, where the person diagnosed with the mental illness sees people as transformed into animals. This mental illness, along with clinical lycanthrophy, was made known through a Game Theory video that claims that the animals in Animal Crossing are not animals.

The darkest secret about the Pokemon series that Game Freak never wanted the whole world to know was that the real reason for its creation was because Satoshi Tajiri went down on record that he wanted to create a series that is as popular as anything Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto came up with. No wonder Ash Ketchum's original nemesis Gary Oak was called Shigeru in the Japanese version of the Pokemon TV series, and it makes sense when Ash was also known as Satoshi. From the very beginning, Satoshi Tajiri wanted to surpass Shigeru Miyamoto, but the writers for the TV series, along with Nintendo and Game Freak will make sure this will never become a reality, because if this happens, Mario will drop dead in despair like he did in Dharkon's version of World of Light's Bad Ending. And you think the 31st of March, 2021, was going to be the end of Mario...

Perhaps the real reason behind Nintendo's mistreatment of Waluigi has something to do with Waluigi's name being an anagram for ijiwaru, which means ill-natured. No wonder Nintendo wants Waluigi to continue to wallow in self-pity over everything going right for everybody except him. Waluigi was ill-tempered and ill-natured from the very beginning. This could be the reason why Waluigi was not given an invitation to Mario's tennis tournament in Mario Tennis for the N64.

Ever wondered why hedgehogs are not allowed to be kept as pets in Singapore? That's because hedgehogs spread zoonotic diseases. This means that the villainous Eggman Empire's sworn enemy was not a blue hedgehog, but rather, the zoonotic diseases that Sonic's kind and the animals Dr Eggman had been imprisoning will be a far greater threat than the evil genius that the titular hero had to confront in many of the games in the Sonic series.

Licensing Disaster

Credits to SonikkuForever for providing footage of a hilariously bad Pakistani McDonald's Happy Meal commercial for Sega LCD handheld games via YouTube.

While fan-made memes based on Sega's characters such as Sanic and Ugandan Knuckles look like low quality designs, character design standards in Pakistan are far lower than average. While most of the Sonic characters in the Pakistani McDonald's Happy Meal commercial for Sega LCD handheld games look like themselves, Rouge, unfortunately looks more like a naked rat. This means that the Pakistani McDonald's Happy Meal commercial for Sega LCD handheld games would be considered so terrible that Ugandan Knuckles would be considered a marvelous masterpiece. But the designs are still better than Sanic.

And it was not just Sonic characters that got such a poor treatment in Pakistan. Crash Bandicoot, Hello Kitty and several others have also fallen victim to poor quality character design standards in Pakistan. Therefore, if you want to do business in the Pakistani market, don't even think about TV advertisement design. Pakistani TV advertisement designs are horrible.

Stabbed By Schezo

Note to self: Wearing red or black will hide bloodstains.

Let's face it. Professor Samuel Oak lied to everybody who went on a quest to become the very best that no one ever was. Not to mention that not only was he originally going to be the endgame in Pokemon Red and Blue, but he was actually a very terrible mentor to many people, including his own grandson, and let's not forget about his nepotism. That's why Schezo Wegey from Puyo Puyo should impale him.

Don't worry about King Arthur. Even if Schezo impaled him, only his armour will break, but he would still be just fine. This was demonstrated in Project X Zone, where King Arthur got caught in a world-destroying blast, but only his armour got destroyed, and he was still intact in his underwear.

Schezo's stabbing spree wouldn't be complete without a Sega character, or in this case, a villainous Sega character. And no Sega villain is more prominent than Dr Ivo Eggman Robotnik. The Dr Eggman featured in this comic getting stabbed is the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version.

If Game Theory taught me anything, the Toads from the Super Mario series could actually be a far bigger threat than Bowser would ever be since 1985. Not only did they insult Mario, Luigi and many people who played Super Mario Bros by telling them that their princess is in another castle, but it turns out that they are not mushrooms at all, and possibly parasites. If Toad insulted Schezo, Toad would definitely get stabbed by the white-haired sword-fighter.

Ash Ketchum's original nemesis Gary "Shigeru" Oak must die for all those times he bullied Ash and for all the Pokemon fans, myself included, that he tormented since 1996, by getting impaled by Schezo, and I don't care if this grandson of Professor Oak was named after Mario's creator Shigeru Miyamoto. Justice must be delivered, whether it is too morbid or not.

Speaking of Shigeru Miyamoto, it turns out that he actually liked Waluigi. Also, Masahiro Sakurai did not say that he disliked Waluigi. It was because Waluigi was a very unsympathetic character, and Luigi's self-proclaimed rival has to suffer huge levels of misfortune for being mean-spirited. Waluigi was portrayed as the most unlikable character in the "Brawl in the Family" webcomic. Therefore, Schezo should impale Waluigi and put him out of his misery.

Bowsette's Last Words to Eggette

And thus, Eggette's days as a fugitive on the run begins...

When copyright owners and/or third party firms send takedown notifications against acts of copyright infringement, what they do not tell you is that the rules include rules enforced by the European Union.

With the European Union Copyright Directive a few months away, you can say the end is at hand. And when this happens, our creativity will be suppressed. Even the existence of Bowsette and Eggette will soon be illegal, perhaps criminal even.

The Trumpet magazine has an article speaking about the European Union's hostile takeover of the Internet. They also said that Bill Clinton's administration dismantled Yugoslavia, leaving Serbia diminished. For that he won the Charlemagne Prize, and The Trumpet calls that shameful. You know what else would have been shameful? The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) got approved during Bill Clinton's administration. Right from the day the DMCA came into effect, the EU had been plotting to hijack this anti-piracy countermeasure and turn it against America and the rest of the world. The DMCA's biggest failure was that it not only failed to rein in digital piracy, but it had been suppressing creativity and innovation as well.

Now that America is going downhill, you can expect German democracy to perish with American democracy as well, and with it, the darkest days will begin...

Update: The European Union Copyright Directive came into force, but I am still around. I guess I can continue to be a content creator for now...

Exeggcuted

Now you know how it feels to be a victim of being inflated, Dr Eggman, given that you have never been inflated before.

Today's comic is a portmanteau of Exeggcute and executed.

Another comic about execution? What kind of people are we appeasing? People who, like Mayor Gene, dislike video game villains?

For more than a decade, Sonic fan art had been plagued by inflation fetish. Between this, the upcoming Sonic film, and some terrible Sonic games, the Sonic series has really fallen on hard times. Even the Puyo Puyo series is in far better shape than the Sonic series right now...

To vent my frustration on the disgraceful state of the Sonic series, I drew Dr Eggman being inflated by Dig Dug's Taizo Hori, just to appease people who, like me, dislike video game villains, to the point that they have to be executed.
