The Real Internet Stardom

Maybe the real Internet Stardom were the friends we made along the way on the World Wide Web all along...

Remember the days when Google used to be the friendly neighbourhood search engine? What about leaving behind an impressive legacy on our favourite Internet haunts such as Blogspot, WordPress, DeviantArt, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Tumblr, as well as some less famous sites such as Dailymotion, Twitch, Vimeo, and Pixiv? Well, there was a time when people wished to leave behind a legacy on the Internet. But now those days of sharing our interests through the World Wide Web are now heading for the sunset in the face of privacy and security issues plaguing the Internet. In fact, some Internet users have decided to erase (most of) their digital footprints from the Internet even if it hurts their followers more than it hurts them. And don't get me started about the draconian Internet regulations, because some people are abusing their authority in regards to imposing the Internet regulations.

I miss the days when GeoCities and MySpace used to be relevant. We wished we had done enough to archive their content before they disappeared...
