Explosive Content

Now we know why there are exploding capsules in Super Smash Bros. But how does breaking the capsule open detonate the grenade in the first place? Given that grenades have safety pins attached to them, this means the safety pins that detached from them when the capsule broke in two were not attached properly.

Scarred by Bad Endings

Given that Team Villains won the Splatoon 2 Super Smash Bros Ultimate Heroes Vs Villains Splatfest, people who dislike video game villains will be unduly upset. But it would be no use getting unduly upset, given that the two bad endings in the World of Light campaign, where either the multiverse gets vaporized, or turned into a black void, will leave anyone who got those endings severely traumatized. It's even worse than being unduly upset on top of that. Talk about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)...

Here is a summary of the bad endings:

Galeem Version: Dharkon gets obliterated and the World of Nintendo gets vaporized.

Dharkon Version: Dharkon outright kills Galeem after imprisoning him, and devours the World of Nintendo, turning it into a darkness-filled void.

Overall, both endings can only mean GAME OVER for Kirby and everyone in the multiverse.

If Mayor Gene from Wreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks The Internet was in those bad endings, his final words before either getting vaporized or swallowed by darkness would be "I REGRET NOTHING!!!!!" So much for somebody who disliked video game villains and getting unduly upset if they win just once, that they would turn a blind eye to even bigger threats like Galeem, Dharkon, and computer viruses.

If Team Rocket was also in the bad endings as well, they would not have been able to say any last words in the Galeem Version of the bad ending as they would have been vaporized before they can say anything at all. In the Dharkon version of the bad ending, Team Rocket's last words would have been "Looks like Team Rocket's getting swallowed up by darkness!!!!!"

In other words, avoid getting the bad endings at all costs and get the true ending. Explosive but extremely satisfactory.

The Blast Heard Round The World

The Blast Heard Round The World at the end of the World of Light campaign's true ending signaled the defeats of Galeem and Dharkon, and with the two explosions, the various Nintendo fanbases that stood united to rally behind Kirby to save the Nintendo Multiverse in Super Smash Bros Ultimate's campaign mode rejoiced, especially when campaign mode began with a devastating and apocalyptic opening cinematic.

Given that the only way to truly win campaign mode is to defeat both Galeem and Dharkon in the final battle, you can say that it does not hurt to take a third option.

Cheapest Sell-off in history

Imagine a good deal involving buying a video game studio which has a rich history spanning more than twenty years for ¥1. It would have been possible for anyone, including an indie game studio to purchase Jaleco Ltd from Emcom Holdings if they had even heard about such a sale with an extremely low selling price.

Unfortunately for Game Yarou, by acquiring Jaleco, they had also acquired ¥700000000 in debts as well, which may have possibly caused Game Yarou to file for bankruptcy in 2014, five years after purchasing Jaleco from Emcom Holdings. With Game Yarou's bankruptcy, Jaleco closed its doors for good after nearly forty years in the amusement and video game industry. As for Jaleco's intellectual properties, they ended up under the ownership of City Connection, an indie game studio named after one of Jaleco's games, which was probably founded by former Jaleco employees.

Sports that should have been

These sports should probably be added into the Olympic Games starting from Tokyo 2020 onwards, if that is, these fusions of certain events in existing sports would work in practice.

Maybe these fusion sports will be accepted in the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series, and hopefully, there will be Zelda and Puyo Puyo guest stars in the Tokyo 2020 edition game. So please, add Arle from Puyo Puyo into the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series, Sega, even if Nintendo is the current publisher of future titles in the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series.

Here is a picture of Arle in her gymnastics and swimming attire that I drew:

That was why I made her the girl featured in this comic featuring new variations of the diving sport featured in official aquatics tournaments, in which the springboard was substituted for elements from gymnastics and pole vault. For those wondering why would someone wear gymnastics attire for water sports, the female characters in the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series were wearing their gymnastics costumes for swimming as well. In the case of a diver doing pole vaulting, it could be possibly due to the female athletics attire looking like swimwear, possibly because some of the shorts worn by the female athletes look like panties.

Issues aside, I think fusion sports will be the future of sports tournaments, if new sports need to be invented or current ones need a new variation.

Update: Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo Edition has finally been released, but no Zelda or Puyo Puyo characters are featured in that game.

Rebooted

Author's note: This comic was created back in 2013 to usher in the launch of Sei Madou Monogatari, which was later launched outside Japan as Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God. Also, there were no Octomania cameos in the game.

There was already a reboot of Madou Monogatari for the Sega Saturn. Unfortunately, like all of the titles in the series prior to the international release of Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God, the Sega Saturn version of Madou Monogatari was never to leave Japan just like most of the games in Sega's Puyo Puyo series, which was a puzzle spin-off of the dungeon crawler series created by Compile. This means that Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God is the first Madou Monogatari game to be released in the international market. Unlike the previous reboot, this entry in the series is a genuine reboot with brand new characters and a brand new story. Credits to Compile Heart on reviving a forgotten dungeon crawler that almost nobody has even heard of.

Too many colours!!

This is why there are only four colours in Soldam and its sequel Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase. Having eight or twelve colours would make things too complicated for a puzzle game that blends Tetris with Othello.

In 2017, Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase was released on the Nintendo Switch to mark the 25th anniversary of the original Soldam that was released in 1992 in arcades and on the Game Boy.

Soldam is like Tetris, except the horizontal lines that have to be formed and cleared have to be of one single colour, and the O-Block is the only block in play, but it comes in different colours, especially when it comes in a combination of two, three or even four different colours. The instruction manual for Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase calls the Othello method of changing colours sandwiched between two same-coloured pieces that are directly connected to each other vertically, horizontally or diagonally flanking.

Because Soldam was never launched in international markets, Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase would be considered the first game in the series that is no longer exclusive to Japan. Credits to Dispatch Games for having this game available in international markets.

Compile's Lost Puyo Puyo Yonkomas

The Wayback Machine has to be the best way for net users to explore the past, especially when searching for websites thought to have been lost due to them going offline, or searching for older versions of certain websites.

The Wayback Machine also proved useful for searching for webcomic websites that disappeared from Google Search due to the websites going offline for any reason. In this case, these Puyo Puyo yonkomas from the website of the now-defunct Compile were found using the Wayback Machine. So give the Wayback Machine a try, even if it is not perfect, especially when Web 1.0 websites may contain missing images.

Point of view

You cannot call the Daisenryaku series in general Advance Wars for snails or Advance Wars on steroids. It all depends on the game in the series or the gameplay style of the human or CPU player. Of course strategy planning is very important, even if it has to come at the expense of speed.

Then again, despite Daisenryaku 7 being described as a super fast-paced Advance Wars, in contrast to some of the early Daisenryaku games, which were described as slow-paced, it seems like nearly every scenario in the game will take hours to come to its climatic finale. And as seen in some Daisenryaku titles, some of those scenarios will end inconclusively when a certain amount of turns have ended. No wonder the vast majority of the Daisenryaku series games were Japan-only.

Swimwear Ranking FAQs

Swimwear rankings may or may not be dependent on the design factors as listed in this comic.

Every aspect of popular culture have a ranking system, and female swimwear that are featured in various media platforms of pop culture are also eligible to have its own ranking system. But if female swimwear that appeared in pop culture had a ranking system, then different versions of the bikini emoji will be competing over getting a higher rank in that ranking system.

Update: In 2019, the one-piece swimsuit emoji was introduced, meaning there is more competition over getting a higher rank in the female swimwear ranking system.

Mammoth Tanks

Neither the Command and Conquer production team nor the Gunbound production team knew about each other's ideas in regards to the vehicle naming and design.

While the mobile revival of the Worms-like tank warfare PC online game Gunbound has been met with positive reception, the Command and Conquer series has yet to receive a proper entry on any platform. In other words, the Gunbound producers did listen to their fanbase and outsourced production to another studio to create Gunbound M, unlike Electronic Arts, who still continues to make their fanbase unhappy and upset.

Command and Conquer © Electronic Arts. Gunbound © Softnyx.

Update: Command and Conquer Remastered Collection came out in 2020, and it appears that Electronic Arts may have seen the error of their ways because the game received positive reviews. Perhaps they are finally submitting to the demands of their fanbase...

No More Wet Panties!

Whether or not panties getting wet due to bladder incontinence would be considered a wardrobe malfunction remains questionable.

For all those wondering about leak-proof panties being a thing, they actually exist.

The black undergarments that Samus is wearing in the first panel comes from the 100% Ending of Super Metroid, and it looks more like swimwear than lingerie.

The Dragon Quest IX female warrior happens to wear a red pair of panties, as seen in several Dragon Quest IX artwork images, which was why there are red panties in the last two panels.

Pantsless

The Tank Battalion arcade flyer that was created by Game Plan seems to have a lady who does not mind leaving her panties exposed and was not wearing any pants or skirts. However, some people would not find the flyer appropriate as compared to the Shark Attack flyer that Game Plan also made, which featured a lady in a bikini in a flyer for a game about sharks eating up divers.

For those who do not know about the arcade game Tank Battalion, it was actually the first game in Namco's Battle City series, which was pretty obscure since Famiclone multicart owners were the only people who know about Battle City's existence.

Nothing To Watch

To say "One hundred channels and nothing to watch" or "Five hundred channels and nothing to watch" is nothing compared to Eustace saying "Two thousand channels and still nothing to watch".

Given that Eustace had nothing to watch after browsing two thousand TV channels in the Courage The Cowardly Dog episode "Courage In The Big Stinkin' City", the girl in this comic should be fortunate, especially when there are good shows and not so good shows in the past and in the present. It's just that the good shows from the past and the present are now a rarity, and the mediocre shows now outnumber the good ones. How the times have changed for television in the last twenty years.

BTOOOM!

If you think Angry Birds was the only game where green pigs get blasted, then you should forgive yourself for being unaware about Butasan, a forgotten game that was conceived in 1987 as Jaleco's answer to Bomberman.

Butasan is a game about pigs blasting each other with bombs. In the game, the player's pig has to blast opponent pigs of various colors, including green pigs and light green pigs.

For those who do not get the title of this comic, the title of the comic and the explosion in the last panel are references to the manga and anime "Btooom!!!!!"

Butasan was also released internationally as Psycho Pigs UXB, yet nobody outside Japan played the original arcade version until it was released in 2015 through Arcade Archives under its original name. The sequel, Tatakae Butasan, or Psycho Pigs was released on the 3DS in 2015.

In addition, the pig from Butasan made cameos in several Game Tengoku games, Bases Loaded 2016 and other lesser known Jaleco titles. Other than that, Butasan would be considered as one of those underrated games that were overlooked.

Ultimate Betrayal

With the Game Freak-developed Tembo being not only on non-Nintendo platforms, but will not be on any Nintendo platforms at all, Nintendo owning more than 50% of Game Freak's shares means nothing. And it does not help when Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri was the executive producer of Tembo. No wonder the late Takeshi Shudo and subsequent directors of the Pokemon anime after him made sure that Ash Ketchum never wins the Pokemon League, especially when Ash was called Satoshi. It's like the directors of the Pokemon anime disliked Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri, or any character based on him, and for good reasons.

Maybe most of us have never played Pulseman, another Game Freak-developed game which was published by Sega just like Tembo. However, most of Game Freak's non-Pokemon games never left Japan, meaning that we were unaware that Game Freak made games that were on non-Nintendo platforms during the Console Wars of the 1990s, which could jeopardize any relations between Nintendo and Game Freak should this truth ever be made known to the general public. This could also explain the absence of Pulseman in the Sega Superstars series, especially when Game Freak developed Pulseman for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.

Game Freak was also said to be the reason Pokemon had been a licensing nightmare for the Super Smash Bros production crew, and Masahiro Sakurai claimed that acquiring the license to include Pokemon characters in the Super Smash Bros games was harder than that of third-party characters, including the theoretically impossible ones.

Finally, Game Freak was the reason there was no Pokemon-themed attraction in Nintendo Land, which can also explain the lack of actual Pokemon cameos in many of Nintendo's games. It seems like acquiring a license from Game Freak is actually far harder than acquiring a license from a third-party game studio, especially for character cameos and crossovers. So much for Pokemon being published by Nintendo...

Perplexed by Cybersecurity

Given that Cy-Bugs are computer viruses in the Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph, it would make sense for a firing squad to show up for Sergeant Calhoun's wedding with Fix-It Felix Jr. to open fire on any intruder, given the terrible fate of Dr. Brad Scott, which Mayor Gene was unaware of.

Also, given that cyber-security threats are now greater than when Wreck-It Ralph came out, Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 may just have a possibility of dealing with a far bigger cyber-security threat than the Cy-Bugs. So much for being a grumpy mayor who dislikes video game villains, only to turn a blind eye towards not only the Out Of Order sign, but also cyber-security threats such as the Cy-Bugs, Gene.

Shared Anniversary

Author's Note: This was supposed to be my tribute to the 30th Anniversary of the Famicom and SG-1000, but multiple delays mean it will have to be my tribute to the 35th Anniversary of the Famicom and SG-1000 instead.

Was it a coincidence that Sega launched the SG-1000 on the same day Nintendo launched the Famicom? Because these two video game consoles both came out in Japan on the 15th of July, 1983, like Konata just said in the last panel.

These two consoles, however took different paths. The Famicom ended up being more successful than the SG-1000, resulting in the SG-1000 being discontinued when the Master System came out in Japan, while the Famicom continued being in production until 2003, 2 years after Sega went third-party after they discontinued production of the Dreamcast.

Anyway, like Konata said in the second panel of this comic, Happy 35th Anniversary, Famicom and SG-1000.

Cause and Consequence

You are not alone, Mayor Gene. Many video game players, especially myself, dislike video game villains just like you do. However, it would be terrible to be put out of order, especially if mistreating video game villains made then leave in the first place, resulting in the game being put out of order.

To make matters worse, when your game is out of order, and no solution can be found, you either become homeless and at the mercy of permanent death, or you get sucked into a black hole and perish with the unplugged game. Both are terrible fates you would not want to have at all.

Soccer War

There was an actual Soccer War conflict. It was a war fought between Honduras and El Salvador, which was said to have been caused by El Salvador severing diplomatic relations with Honduras as a result of unsportsmanlike behaviour from the fans during the World Cup qualification play-offs between Honduras and El Salvador. However, it was more likely due to illegal immigration by the Salvadoreans into Honduras that got the ball rolling.

Also, this comic strip and its title is a reference to the Soccer Mode Event in World of Tanks. In Soccer Mode, the objective for the tanks is to blast the ball into the opposing side's goal. Like in real soccer, the side that has the highest score when time runs out wins. But if time runs out and the match ended in a draw, extra time will be added.

Daisy's Silk Bikini

To be fair, Daisy, the bikini you were wearing was similar to the one worn by Tatra from Magic Knight Rayearth.

This is what the bikini worn by Tatra looks like:

Also, nobody knows of any swimwear, especially bikinis that are made of silk or linen to begin with in real lifeMaybe the outfit worn by Arabian Moon from Irem's Superior Soldiers/Perfect Soldiers may have something to do with it, given how skimpy it is.

Items needed for Wet Panty

A sequel to an earlier comic strip that I made.

If you want to know which panties were featured in this comic, the purple panties were based on the ones that the female fencers from The Astyanax wear, the white panties were based on the ones worn by Nariko from Heavenly Sword, and the pink panties with a white stripe in the middle were based on the ones worn by Maron from Astra Superstars.

And like this comic said, any female who is about to get their panties wet due to the wet panty prank should be wearing swimwear bottoms instead of panties.

The End of Funorb

On the 8th of May, 2018, Jagex announced that the FunOrb servers will close down on the 7th of August, 2018.

Having played the games of FunOrb during its early years, it is sad that the website had to close its doors for good. However, with Mozilla Firefox version 52 terminating support for the Java browser plug-in, leaving the troublesome Internet Explorer as the only web browser to support the Java plug-in, it will make sense for Jagex to make a painful decision.

Also, the discontinuation of the Java plug-in by good web browsers such as Firefox and Chrome was one of the reasons that made me decide to quit Runescape on the 27th of March, 2017. Given that plug-ins have become vulnerabilities as well, I would also get rid of the Java plug-in, which I already did, if it means getting rid of software vulnerabilities.

Update: FunOrb did go offline on the 7th of August, 2018. The link to the FunOrb website now redirects to the Jagex website.

Wet Panty

The one who got her panties wet should have been in swimwear instead of lingerie. Now she will need to change her panties...

Click here if you want to know where i got the inspiration for this comic.

With a prank that involves getting a pair of panties wet, you can say that two-piece swimwear bottoms are better than panties, given that lingerie were not meant to get wet unlike bikinis, which are more suitable for getting wet in.

Super Mario Strikers Bloomers Attire

I think Nintendo did not want females to be wearing bloomers because they were actually more skimpy than the short shorts worn in the Mario Strikers series.

For your information, the below image has Samus, Peach and Daisy wearing sports bras and crop tops with short shorts.

And this is what female volleyball players wear in the NES/Famicom Disk System version of Volleyball:

Just look at the pair of shorts she is wearing. The pair of bloomers she is wearing looks more like a pair of panties.

Would you want to have female characters wear shorts that look like panties if they are wearing sports bras or crop tops as well?

Sakurai Was Right!

For those who want Goku to be in Super Smash Bros, you have to accept the fact that he will never be in the game, if the Super Spirit Bomb disintegrating the nearly invincible Majin Buu was any indication. Goku would also be unsuitable for Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale for similar reasons. Therefore, we have to accept the fact that anime characters will never be in Super Smash Bros or Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale because anime characters will ruin everything for these dueling titles and what they are meant to be.

Maybe it has to do with some anime being too brutal and gory for their characters to be even included into Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, which has characters from games that have gore in it...

I'm keeping an eye on you, Game Freak. Especially when there are people who want characters from the Pokemon anime, given that its main protagonist has below average intelligence, which could explain why he has not won any major Pokemon League.

Dragon Ball Z © Shueisha/Bird Studios.

Update: Ash Ketchum finally won Alola's Pokemon League. However, he will not be allowed in Smash Bros due to him not originating from a video game.

The Origins of Acid Tokyo

Our condolences for the Pancham that got dissolved by the Alolan Muk's Acid Downpour.

The Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations version of Tokyo was often nicknamed "Acid Tokyo" due to the city being reduced to ruins by acid rain. Also, Acid Downpour is a Poison-Type Pokemon's Z-move, so Tokyo turning into Acid Tokyo due to a Poison-Type Pokemon such as Alolan Muk using Acid Downpour just to defeat an enemy Pokemon seems to be a logical origin story that makes sense.

Self-Destruction

Remember, not all cheat codes are good. Also, cheating is against the law and will get you banned.

For your information, the quote above the worm that is going to self-destruct is made of two Warcraft 2 cheat codes that players should never type in at all. "Never a winner" makes victory impossible, while "You pitiful worm" results in instant defeat without fighting against anyone at all.

Up and Down

Author's Note: This comic was created in response to Poland making it to the quarter-finals in Euro 2016, where they lost a penalty shoot-out to eventual tournament winners Portugal.

Ukraine finished Group C with a depressing result, having lost all three group stage matches without scoring a single goal, making them the worst team of Euro 2016.

Endless Cycle

If Demise's final words about Link and Zelda being trapped in a cycle without end were true, then this will explain why Zelda characters do not make cameo appearances in not only Mario sports spin-offs (Excluding Mario Kart), but also the Mario Party series as well.....

This could also explain why Ganon can never truly perish even when he gets slain. (Except for Wind Waker, where he gets turned to stone after being stabbed.) This could also be the reason for him devastating Hyrule in Breath Of The Wild as Calamity Ganon.

Even if Ganon came into any Mario spin-off (Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario Party, etc.) as Ganondorf, everyone will be running away from him, and let's not forget what will happen to Wreck-It Ralph's Bad-Anon if Ganon joined the association, especially as Ganondorf.....

Now one must wonder what will happen if Ganondorf decides to participate in Mario Kart, Mario Golf or Mario Tennis as a playable character, and the other characters' reactions to him showing up.....

Disappointing Reality

Apparently, the 11th century versions of the warriors of For Honor were not meant to have an average height taller than 6 feet tall, perhaps due to inadequate nutrition back in those times.

For your information, the heights of the characters used for comparing the For Honor warriors' heights are as follows:

Charizard (170 cm / 5'7")Chiyo (133 cm / 4'4"), Kagura (156 cm / 5'1"), Nyamo (161 cm / 5'3"), Osaka (156 cm / 5'1"), Sakaki (174 cm / 5'8"), Tomo (154 cm / 5'0"), Yomi (163 cm / 5'4"), Yukari (158 cm / 5'2")

And we have not even started comparing the heights of all the Dynasty Warriors playable characters yet..... That will be a major challenge and a nightmare for sure.....

Wardrobe Malfunction

It would be a lot less embarrassing for the female fencers from The Astyanax if they had been wearing any undergarments under their skimpy outfits.

But then again, it was the female enemies' fault for not wearing any underwear under their skimpy costumes.

Up In Flames

Please avoid running or jumping into campfires. Getting burnt alive is not funny when your clothes get burnt up.

You have to give Hudson Soft credit for censoring private parts by making Master Higgins cover them when he gets burnt by a campfire. Especially when indecent exposure in video games can get any game designer into trouble with customers and game software rating organisations.

The Virtual Boy Nightmare

Remember, if you do not want to have nightmare-like hallucinations, especially those reminiscent of the Virtual Boy's terrible black-and-red visuals, stay hydrated, and do not drink seawater, because seawater causes dehydration, and side effects of dehydration include hallucinations.

Even Cartoon Network can prove that the Virtual Boy had terrible graphics and visuals, which were the possible reasons for the Virtual Boy being a commercial failure, and therefore, the stuff of nightmares.

Rise of the Eastern European Famiclones

You should give the Famiclone manufacturers credit for introducing video games that Eastern Europe had never heard of in the mid-1980s to that region. Especially when the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was never introduced in Russia, Poland or any Eastern European country. So much for the Cold War and the Iron Curtain.

Nichitsu's Forgotten Consoles and Computers

A sad fate for these great gaming consoles and computers...

Nobody knows if the abandoned consoles and computers left behind in Nichitsu belonged to the last group of people who left the town for the last time or people who came to the ghost town and stayed there for a while.

Perhaps somebody will claim these retro treasures and give them a new home.
