If escaping from South Africa by paying 5 coins to take a ship ride to Panama was possible in real life just like in Wii Party's Globe Trot, then things would be easier for people who wish to migrate out of South Africa...
Let's face it. South Africa was already on course to becoming a failed state during the dark days of Apartheid. Even when Apartheid was finally abolished, things didn't become better. Instead, South Africa became worse off than during Apartheid because of the lack of equality between ethnic groups that still persisted after Apartheid was abolished.
Which comes to South Africans of European origin planning to migrate to some other country. The United States and Canada are becoming just as dysfunctional as South Africa, meaning South Africans of European ancestry will have to migrate to either Costa Rica or Panama, which is what some Canadians are doing right now. The only problem is that anybody migrating to Costa Rica or Panama will have to learn Spanish if they wish to acquire citizenship in those two countries. But learning a new language isn't a problem, though. Instead, it will be adjusting to their new home country that may be a big problem. But that will eventually be resolved with the help of some friendly locals.
In conclusion, even countries that are less wealthy than yours in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita can sometimes have far more friendly environments that will make you want to migrate there. Ironically, South Africa has a lower GDP per capita than Costa Rica or Panama, meaning for South Africans, migrating to Costa Rica or Panama means going to a place with both a more friendly environment and higher GDP per capita.
